In my opinion, these are the best blue color Apatite gems that I have seen from anywhere in the world for the strength of their color. This is not just a simple "Oval Cabochon" cut gem, but a fine quality Cat's Eye stone that shows a sharp and distinct "eye" running the length of the stone. Cat's Eye gems feature a characteristic called chatoyancy where small fibrous inclusions reflect the light in a way that it becomes concentrated on the surface of the stone in a single line that will actually move from side to side as the stone is rotated.
