Apatite (intense color)

There are two places in the world that are known to produced these neon blue Apatite gems. The Bahia area of Brazil has been known to produce a very intense deep blue color of Apatite, but stones are often very small. The Madagascar material is probably best known around the world for its intense blue color and has made a comeback in the gem world as I've seen it on some of the home shopping jewelry channels lately. This particular stone has some of the strongest and most intense color blue that I have seen for the material. You could almost mistake this for a dark blue Lazulite gem if you didn't know better. It is very very slightly included with a "Pear" cut, and would make a nice addition to any gem collection for its impressive strong blue color.
