Apatite (ex Obodda)

A wonderful purple Apatite crystal from Afghanistan. The form is fairly atypical in my experience, with a prismatic habit. You rarely see such well-formed and lusrous purple crystals from any locality, let alone crystals that are so well crystallized all the way around. This one is not etched or "rough" on the exterior. It's fairly gemmy, and the color is really interesting. Associated Cookeite on the back makes for a nice contrast. Classic gem pegmatite material. Good crystallized purple Apatites are not that common on the market. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
