Apatite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful example of the classic Apatites from Medina with the distinctive smoky soft peach hue. The crystal are notably sharp and gemmy with attractive prismatic form that have grown together in an elongated pseudo-"Faden"-esque kind of growth. When backlit, the crystals are very gemmy, even water clear in areas. Minor attached Muscovite makes for a nice touch. Great condition all around and a fine display piece of this older material from the 1970s that is no longer seen on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11156). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
