Item Description

A classic example of the famous old-time blue Apatite crystals from Mendes Pimentel. A sharp, well-formed, lustrous, single hexagonal prism that shows a deep blue color in reflected light, but displays the most intense electric blue color in transmitted light. A beautiful single gem crystal thumbnail specimen of these well-known Apatites. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6628). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
