Item Description

Cornish Apatites are well-known for their wonderful habits and wide range of colors. This is a lovely large miniature / small cabinet specimen featuring a tightly intergrown group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, soft golden colored tabular Apatite crystals which measure up to about 2.5 mm across sitting on matrix. The associated reddish mineral could be Siderite (?), but we're not 100% certain. I love the "stepped" prism faces on each crystal with almost give the appearance of "teeth". The piece is in good shape overall with little damage. Please note that I don't know specifically what species of Apatite this is, so I'm just leaving it Apatite for the purpose of this listing. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5631). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
