Item Description
A classic single Apatite crystal from Cerro de Mercado. This is a wonderfully sharp, lustrous, gemmy, euhedral, prismatic crystal of Apatite with the well known slightly greenish yellow color and classic pyramidal termination. These specimens are not nearly as common on the market as they were about 20 years ago, and are certainly some of the most distinctive crystals of Apatite from any locality in the world. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
