Item Description
Epidote and apatite combination specimens from Knappenwand are a worldwide classic. A well-placed, 1.3 cm, gem, tabular, apatite crystal with chlorite inclusions is the focal point of this excellent large specimen. The wedge of chlorite schist matrix is studded with a multitude of gemmy, olive-green, epidote crystals to 1.0 cm and scattered smaller apatites. There are also plenty of green actinolite (variety byssolite) hairs scattered about in clusters. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this piece at $700, five or more years ago.
