A classic Apatite specimen from Cerro de Mercado featuring a sharp, lustrous, gemmy, euhedral, prismatic crystal of Apatite with the well known slightly greenish yellow color on matrix. A few smaller accessory Apatites can be seen on the piece. These specimens are not nearly as common on the market as they were about 20 years ago, and are certainly some of the most distinctive crystals of Apatite from any locality in the world. MATRIX specimen are exceedingly difficult to obtain in this quality. Overall, a good specimen of this renowned Mexican material. The crystal measures 2.2 cm, and it does have a small contact where the prism faces meet the pyramidal faces. Priced at $600.
