An extremely gemmy, yellow-green apatite crystal from the famous Cerro de Mercado Iron Mine of Durango, Mexico. This sharp, hexagonal crystal is complete all-around and pristine. The termination has a bit of embedded matrix and one side is contacted, but has no damage, per se. Cerro de Mercado is a volcanic plug mined for its iron content and most apatites are damaged during blasting. This is a very fine, gemmy crystal, highly representative and uncommon in this quality from this locale. 20 grams.
