Item Description
Very unusual, old material from this mine. This apatite is from the Astillero Mine, which is in Mapimi Municipality but 35 km west of Ojuela in a different mountain range altogether. The material was often sold in Mapimi town and it is common to see it mislabeled as Ojuela. This is an unusual specimen composed of variegated, botryoidal, lustrous, and slightly translucent apatite. The color ranges from apple green to a grayish or brownish tan. The apatite fluoresces a greenish-white color.
