Item Description

Here we have a fine quality and very attractive example of Apache Chrysocolla. This limited and fine quality material came out of an old copper mine in Mexico, which was mined by Benni Fenn in the 1990s. It's completely unique material, nothing quite looks like it. I've seen some people refer to these gems as the "Holy Grail" of Chrysocolla for what it's worth. It was so received and popular that a stone was actually featured on the cover of Rock and Gem magazine. This "Freeform Cabochon" cut gem features multiple materials, starting with vibrant sky blue Chrysocolla, which is surrounded by a darker blue material (some say it's Azurite, others say it's Shattuckite), along with beige Quartz, and reddish Hematite (or possibly Hematite included in Quartz), to create a very colorful and alluring gem. I can't recall having another piece of this material to offer, and from what I understand, these are highly sought after in the gem world, as not much of it is available on the market now.
From the private gemstone collection of Kathryn Dakis.
