Item Description

Please note: This specimen has been identified as Antlerite, though originally said to be Brochantite, and with that said, it's still a remarkably rare example from the modern powerhouse locality at Milpillas. This mine was not only the source of some of the finest examples of Azurite ever seen, but many other beautiful secondary ore species, including some excellent rarities. This piece is a full cabinet sized display specimen featuring sharp, lustrous, dark green (nearly black) prismatic crystals with "chisel"-shaped terminations measuring up to 1.1 cm, which are sitting atop a layer of chatoyant emerald green Brochantite, along with little radiating blue colored groups of what is likely Plancheite, but could possibly be Shattuckite on massive Cuprite matrix. A super rare association specimen from this locality which by all accounts is finished, never to produce any more specimens. Don't miss out on this one, it's different and unusual for Milpillas, and certainly worth adding to any suite of Mexican / Milpillas minerals or a collection of secondary copper species.
