Item Description

Mineral specimens from this exctinct brucitic marble quarry, mined from 1942-68 for the production of magnesium metal (MINDAT) are very uncommon. This is a RARE pseudomorph of a lustrous, olive-green to dark gray Serpentine Group mineral (possibly antigorite) after sharp to euhedral tabular Olivine Group crystals (possibly forsterite). The impresssive, sharp crystal with the chisel termination is 4.3 x 4.0 x 1.6 cm. A RARE and choice pseudomorph from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
