Item Description
An early specimen in the Halpern collection, from a 1976 purchase from an Idar-Oberstein lapidary dealer, this is a gorgeous and really colorful slice of labradorite. Today, they are common enough in larger pieces used for carvings and tourist trinkets of a lower quality than this - but this would STILL be a great quality for this material! Jack displayed his minerals with polished slabs and lapidary objects as accents, always had since the beginning. He found them equally as beautiful as his minerals and mixed a few slabs onto many shelves, of his display room. This has been there since 1976. We are truly honored to present this specimen from another lot of deaccessions from the collection of Jack Halpern of San Francisco, as featured in the Mineralogical Record, March 2005.
