Anhydrite with Calcite (rare) ex Howard Belsky Coll.

Item Description

Naica is known to have produced some outstanding anhydrite specimens and this is an excellent and rare combination example. The front is a pristine fan of parallel-growth, translucent blades with pretty light, ice-blue color. The back is another story! The parallel-growth blades are totally covered with sparkly, gray to colorless calcite microcrystals and smaller anhydrite blades. Classic, highly representative and rare material for the species and famed locale. I have not often seen an anydrite with accessory calcite. Ex Howard Belsky Collection.
