Item Description

Most people don't have a good display quality specimen of Anhydrite in their collections. The species is by no means rare, but it's not terribly common to find good crystallized specimens outside of a few places in the world. Some of the best pieces of Anhydrite in the world are found at the famous Naica Mine, which are characterized by their larger form and alluring blue color. This small cabinet is a beautiful light blue colored Anhydrite crystal group with excellent striated form, along with sharp, lustrous faces and perfect basal terminations all over. Such an elegant form and beautiful color for a mineral that is not often found in fine crystallized examples. Valued at $950. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell. Tom is a mineralogist and mineral collect who works with us here at The Arkenstone. He has over 35 years of experience in the fields of exploration geology, mining, and applied mineralogy, and has even more years under his belt as a collector! Tom has described many new species over the years, and discovered the rare phosphates Tiptopite, Fransoletite and Pahasapaite. Tom was also a co-author on the second edition of the Encyclopedia of Minerals. You can see a list of Tom's published works here ( https://www.irocks.com/thomas-j-campbell-publications-list ).
