Item Description

Anglesite with Cerussite and Malachite from Tsumeb are a classic association. This piece features highly lustrous, dark silvery-grey colored, sharp Anglesite crystals (up to 2.6 cm.) on Malachite with a group of white "snowflake"-shaped, reticulted Cerussite crystals on the underside of the specimen. A very attractive piece from this great locality. Tsumeb specimens are rising in value by the minute it seems. This piece comes from the collection of Richard A. Kosnar, and his catalogue number can be seen on the underside of the specimen. According to the label, the piece was one of the early Tsumeb specimens that Rich catalogued in his collection, as it has a "45" attached to it, meaning there were only 44 pieces ahead of it in the collection at the time. Most people don't realize that Rich Kosnar had a Tsumeb collection with nearly 1000 specimens in it in the 1970s. Valued at $750.
