Item Description

A matrix of galena is host to a cluster of lustrous and translucent, brilliant, lemon yellow anglesite crystals! This specimen is a rare lemon yellow anglesite cluster, which came out mostly (so far as I know) in the 1970s and early 80s and not much since. Other less desirable hues came out at other times. Not only does it have beautiful, gemmy, translucent anglesites to 2.7 cm in rich growth, but there is something very rare in association - little brown, gemmy cerussites! The profusion of top color yellow really makes this a display quality specimen beyond its size...it is a shocking color, in person. Nearly all crystals are terminated well, only one has a slight contact in the display face; and there is some edge wear on the periphery obviously. Considering how soft these crystals are, there is relatively little damage though. Overall, it is a gorgeous specimen with excellent color, and I have seen very few such association pieces. From an old collection in Europe, valued $2500 .
