Anglesite (rare style for the locality)

Anglesite is arguably at its best from Touissit. Without question, the finest examples ever seen have been found at this locality. This piece is not your typical Anglesite from Touissit as the crystals have a soft sandy-beige hue, but if you look closely, there is a delicate drusy appearance on the surface, due to a slight secondary coating of micro Anglesites on top of the larger crystals. The classic prismatic tabular habit is iconic from the locality, and the crystals measure up to a respectable 3.0 cm. The matrix is typical dense Galena, which makes perfect sense since Anglesite forms as a direct alteration of Galena. The piece is in very good shape, but there is a "rub" on top of one of the larger crystals. Additionally, there are many little smoky colored crystal groups of Cerussite that can be seen in the main vug, next to the Anglesites, and one of the smaller vugs on the lower front edge feature some WATER-CLEAR blades of color Anglesite measuring up to about 4 mm. Very good quality all around and so showy. If you collect secondary ore minerals, or specimens from Morocco / Touissit, this is rare and unusual style that would make a great addition to any collection.
