Item Description
I can honestly say that we've never had a piece of this material to offer in the auctions before. I have seen a handful in person, but never actually had one to offer. This large miniature / small cabinet display specimen features sharp, well-formed, white to colorless, translucent / gemmy, pseudo-rhombic crystals of Anglesite measuring up to 2.2 cm aesthetically scattered over the oxidized matrix. Most of the Angelsites are damage free, and the fact that they're isolated allows for excellent viewing. I can see a handful of contacted crystals, but the main crystal and many smaller ones are pristine. There is a lit bit of tan iron oxide to create a lovely color contrast with the matrix. VERY hard to find from San Felipe Canyon, so if you collect secondary ore minerals or minerals of Mexico, do NOT miss out as they are virtually impossible to find on the market. Valued at $750. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5604). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
