Item Description
Cerussite is EXTREMELY RARE compared to pyromorphite from the famed Bunker Hill Mine. Most people think there is no other mineral there to be had - and largely that is indeed true. A few pockets of cerussite nd silver were found over decades, and only a few. I purchased this rich and excellent two-sided miniature directly from the mine owner, Bob Hopper, a number of years ago before he passed away. It was in the mine managers' building in his collection. This is the RARE glassy and gemmy, colorless bladed varietal, with adamatine luster (and some odd yellow fluorescence as a bonus). The crystals reach about 1.8 cm on this exceptional two-sided example. The matrix side is in excellent shape with just a few dinged crystals. The back side is partially contacted, but still has super crystals. Valued $750-950 for the rarity, locality, and quality. It is glassy enough that you might think it was from Tsumeb!
