Item Description
High quality anglesite is very rare and is EXTREMELY RARE compared to pyromorphite from the famed Bunker Hill Mine. Most people think there is no other mineral there to be had - and largely that is indeed true. A few pockets of anglesite, cerussite and silver were found over decades, and only a few. I purchased this rich and excellent small cabinet combination directly from the mine owner, Bob Hopper, a number of years ago before he passed away. It was in the mine managers' building in his collection. This is the RARE glassy and gemmy, colorless blocky, tabular varietal, with adamatine luster (and some odd yellow fluorescence as a bonus). The crystals reach about 1.8 cm and are richly and attractively clustered on the sculptural, vuggy, granular galena matrix. The major crystals in the interior are pristine. Dinged crystals are noted on the periphery on both sides, but are certainly only a modest detraction to this rare and outstanding Bunker Hill anglesite. Valued $750-950 for the rarity, locality, and quality. It is glassy enough that you might think it was from Tsumeb!
