Item Description
A very fine, old-time showy specimen from Broken Hill's major era of mining, probably the early 1900s. This is a gorgeous, sparkling pseudomorph of drusy, tan to creamy anglesite crystals which replaced a striking box-work of reticulated cerussite crystals. The reticulated form of this piece is exceptional. It is not quite pristine, but is damned close - more than any I have seen, and is of large size and impact. Pieces such as this were found in the old, upper oxidized zone of this world famous mine. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. Valued $2000-2500. I have not seen another of this magnitude for sale in many years, and it happens to also be just plain beautiful aside from its locality significance.
