Glassy, lustrous, anglesite blades richly and aesthetically cover the massive galena matrix on this exceptional old-time specimen from a classic locality - the Monteponi Mine in Sardinia. The largest crystal is 2.7 cm and all of the well-formed crystals, but one are pristine! Anglesite specimens of this size, quality and richness are very rare on market from this famed locale, let alone at auction. Part of the base has been sawed to enhance the striking multiple display views. This one is from the elite collection of Dr. Steve Smale. We have seen lesser quality for 1000 Euros at Munich. It must be worth $2000 or more.
