One of the great old Italian classics! Anglesites from Monteponi are some of the most impressive examples of the species from any European locality. The best crystals are incredibly eye-catching. This piece features a prominent 1.6 cm, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, semi-translucent, prismatic, glassy Anglesite crystal sitting on massive silvery Galena matrix. A few smaller secondary Anglesites can be seen on the piece as well. A lovely and classic specimen of these desirable, old-time and now hard to find specimens from this famous mine on the island of Sardinia. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#871). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
