Anglesite (large for locale)

Here is a very impressive cluster of large, incredibly lustrous Anglesite crystals from Touissit, Morocco. These big, lustrous, commanding crystals range from just under one inch up to an amazing three inches in length and the largest is just over an inch and a half in width! There are several prominent crystals in the cluster that range from water-clear to included. The cluster is open and 3-dimensional; so it reveals the individual, bladed prismatic crystals very well. The crystals display color variegations from yellow to milky white to to yellow to gray with the gray color (attributed to included sulfides, mostly fine-grained Galena). It's an impressive, well composed group and the crystals are quite large - even important - for the locality! It probably would have been collected in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Valued $3000-5000.
