Item Description
A 2.7 cm sculptural cluster of sharp, adamantine lustre, translucent anglesite crystals, to 1.7 cm, is jauntily perched atop rich sparkly argentiferous galena matrix on this outstanding older combination from the famous Bunker Hill Mine. High quality anglesite is very rare and is extremely rare compared to pyromorphite from the Bunker Hill Mine. Older material, probably from the 1950s or 1960s, as the piece comes with a Scott Williams Collection label. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12648 and acquired from Evan Jones at the 1993 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Bright white to faint yellow fluorescence. RARE fine older anglesite on silver-rich galena!
