A very rare, sharp, 1.7 cm, gem, smoky anglesite crystal strikingly divides two vugs lined with scintillating smaller anglesites on this very fine old-timer from the famed Monteponi Mine. Amazingly, the matrix is SOLID, scintillating, microcrystalline anglesite! This beautiful crystal has just a bit of inobstrusive edge wear. This classic has multiple fine display views and crystals of this size, gemminess and isolation are not that common. Hefty for the size at 384 grams. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection and the piece has an old A.E. Foote label attached to the base, that probably dates from 1880 to 1895. valued $1000
