Item Description
Anglesite is quite rare in good lustrous crystals from Tsumeb, despite that it is a huge lead mine! This full-sized miniature specimen features several very sharp, rather lustrous, white, bladed crystals of Anglesite measuring up to 2.3 cm nestled in gossan matrix. There are at least seven glassy, translucent crystals in this group that have just a tinge of iron staining locally to provide some accent and slight contrast. The piece has good three-dimensional form with only light contacting around the back edges locally otherwise the crystals are in great condition. This is certainly an older Tsumeb specimen, in my estimation, dating back to the 1950s as it's similar to the handful I've seen from the time period. If you collect Tsumeb specimens, this is a great piece and it originates from the Kay Robertson Collection (#5379)
