This gem, sparkling, transparent anglesite cluster is an old friend to us, memorable after so many years! It was from the collection of noted miniatures and thumbnail collector Carl Turner of Tucson in the 1990s and early 2000s, and then I bought that collection and sold this piece to Jack in 2005. These were originally discovered in the 1980s, in this style. Few enough specimens survived until now, and this is one of the best in size class for color, sharpness, condition, and transparency. The transparency is shocking in person. It is a stellar miniature that literally leaps from the shelf and can be seen across a room in a way that the photos and video probably cannot describe. It is like a jewel, in fact. I have always remembered this one...Such specimens are simply not on the market anymore, and only come out of old collections - even then, rarely. Valued $7500-9500 by what I think of as fair guidance but honestly, it is hard to say. Nothing comparable to this quality is out there to be had. As a fun bonus, I found an old advertisement for my company from 2005, featuring the specimen , so there is the price from 17 years ago and what Jack paid for it.
