Item Description
It's not terribly easy to get your hands a good display specimen of Anglesite from Tsumeb, especially these days. This full-sized miniature specimen features several very sharp, rather lustrous, white bladed crystals of Anglesite measuring up to 2.3 cm sitting on matrix. The piece has good three-dimensional form and the only real damage is around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. This is certainly an OLDER Tsumeb specimen, in my estimation dating back to the 1950s as it's similar to the handful I've seen from the time period. If you collect Tsumeb specimens, this is a great piece to check a box in your collection as this particular style is rarely seen on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5379). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
