Anglesite

Anglesite is rare from Tsumeb and this is a nice, thick, robust, lovely pale blue crystal! This lustrous, beautiful, translucent blue Anglesite has sharp edges and faces and measures nearly two inches in maximum dimension and displays excellent luster! It is gemmy in some places along the edges and translucent throughout much of the body. There is one small, conchoidal fracture on one side of the crystal. The termination has a broad, thin, almost smoky area that adds some contrast. There is a partial sidecar crystal on the back and a few small Anglestite crystals clustered on the bottom front of the piece. This big, handsome and profound Tsumeb Anglesite has great provenance coming from the Dr. Erika Pohl-Strahler collection of Tsumeb minerals.
