Item Description
Sculptural, VERY RARE, beautiful jackstraw cluster of "angel wing" flattened calcite rhombs from an unknown locality in the Ural Mountains of Russia. The aesthetic cluster of tan oxide-included rhombs is dominated by the 3.2 cm compound crystal. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a few gently bruised edges. A fascinating and perhaps unique style of Russian calcite from the Ural Mountains. Very old-time material, we saw come out in the 1980s and 90s. It may be that this is actually from Dalnegorsk (older finds before the market opened), but I simply am not sure.
