Andradite with Clinochlore (ex Obodda)

Item Description

A wonderful miniature specimen featuring a predominant 1.3 cm crystal of dark Andradite. The crystal shows wonderful dodecahedral and trapezohedral form with sharp lustrous faces. The Andradite is surrounded by dark green layered groups of Clinochlore on matrix. Good quality, and certainly obscure on the market. No real damage, but it could use a bit of cleaning. A nice pickup for any Garnet collector. Ex Herb Obodda, and I actually I copied the locality from his label, though I can't find a matching locality in any database or book, so it might be a different name now.
