Andradite with Calcite (ex Obodda Collection)

Item Description

A classic example of the fine crystallized Andradite Garnets from the historic locality at Franklin, New Jersey. Over 300 species are reported from Franklin, but the vast majority of them are microscopic or black or white in hue, so to have colorful crystals that one can see with the naked eye is a big deal. This piece features several sharp, lustrous, well-formed, dodecahedra of reddish-brown Andradite measuring up to 1.3 cm across on minor Calcite matrix.
