Item Description
The Yellow Cat Mine (formerly Junnila Mine), near the famous Dallas Gem Mine (benitoite) is well-known for andradite garnets in golden, brown and green colors. Topazolite is the name given to the uncommon golden variety, similar to the color and transparency of Topaz. Intergrown golden-green, highly lustrous, gemmy sharp Topazolite dodecahedrons, to 9 mm, form a sculptural and aesthetic elongated thumbnail from this well-known locale. Andradites were recovered from the mine in the 1970s and late 1990s, with very few since. Seldom on the market today.
