Item Description
A classic piece of the well-known black Melanite Garnets (a variety of Andradite) from the New Idria District in San Benito County, California featuring a few very sharp, lustrous, well-formed dodecahedral crystals measuring up to 5 mm, sitting on matrix. Good condition overall, only a few tiny imperfections that I could see with a loupe. Please note that the piece does have a saw mark on two sides. From the collection of Tim Sherburn.
