A remarkable, wonderfully formed serpentinite matrix in the shape of a "Horn of Plenty" is filled with a dramatic mounded cluster of intergrown, rounded, translucent and lustrous rich green andradite variety demantoid garnet crystals. World-class finds from the asbestos mines operated here were known for over 100 years. Ex Bill Larson Garnet Collection and long on display at his Fallbrook store where the collection case of garnets was started by Bill and Ed Swoboda back in the 1970s as both office decor and to educate (and impress) new customers. We bought that collection some time ago. It is highly unusual... A superlative and rich demantoid garnet from the locale with surreal matrix form. These are highly uncommon in this size! Valued $2500-5000 low to high. European markets and shows tend to value these much higher than when they turn up in American collections recycled in American shows.
