Item Description

From the discovery of these outstanding quality Demantoid Garnets in Madagascar. An excellent, good sized dodecahedral crystal with slight trapezohedral modifications and superb luster, sharpness and color is associated with a few secondary crystals on a narrow pedestal of micro crystallized pale yellow-green Andradites. Virtually damage free from every angle with wonderful aesthetics! The largest crystal measure 1.1 cm across, which is very good sized for the localiy. I cannot say for certain if there will be more of these pieces, but this is a great opportunity for Garnet collectors to purchase a fine quality specimen of this highly sought after variety of Andradite. Please note that under halogen lights, the crystals appear a bit ligher in color, but under mercury bulbs, the color is very intense! As you can see from the photos, the crystals are very gemmy when backlit. Priced at $600 in the inventory.
