Andradite (var: "Demantoid") (good color)

Item Description

A lovely "mound" of excellent Demantoid crystals sitting beautifully in the middle of a piece matrix comprising metamorphosed sedimentary rock and micro Andradite crystals. The piece is in wonderful condition and has a great three-dimensional quality that is not often seen in pieces from this locality. Some of the Demantoid crystals are incredibly beautiful and WATER-CLEAR with a gorgeous internal yellow-green color. Another interesting aspect of this piece is the fact that there is a slight hollow cavity underneath the Demantoid crystals so they almost look as though they're "floating" above the matrix! The largest crystal measures 1.1 cm, which is a very good size for this material. Priced at $1200 in the inventory.
