Item Description

From the discovery of these outstanding quality Demantoid Garnets in Madagascar. This piece hosts beautiful green modified dodecahedral / trapezohedral crystals of Demantoid on metamorphosed sedimentary rock matrix. The crystals have good luster and gemminess along with that classic Demantoid green color. The largest crystal measure 9 mm across, which is good sized for the localiy. Great condition overall, and look at how aesthetic it is! I cannot say for certain if there will be more of these pieces, but this is a great opportunity for Garnet collectors to purchase a fine quality specimen of this highly sought after variety of Andradite. Please note that under halogen lights, the crystals appear a bit ligher in color, but under mercury bulbs, the color is very intense! As you can see from the photos, the crystals are very gemmy when backlit. Valued at $1150 in the inventory.
