A beautiful specimen from the famous locality in the famous Val Malenco which has produced some of the finest Garnet specimens in the world. Most people are familiar with the world glass green Andradite (Demantoid) Garnets from this locale, and this piece is a great example of said material. Sharp, very lustrous, well-formed, rich green colored modified dodecahedra measuring up to 1.1 cm with addititional smaller crystals sit on typical vitreous, blue-grey, fibrous Asbestos host rock matrix.
