Item Description
One of the best pieces of this sought after material from Mexico. The Andradites from this locality have often been classified as Topazolite, but this piece clearly shows bright green Demantoid crystals near the base. The colors actually range from brown to gold to green, covering a large section of the spectrum. Several sharp, lustrous, gemmy, richly colored modified dodecahedra of Andradite measuring up to 1.1 cm are accented with white "wings" of Calcite flaring out of the center of the piece. The largest Andradite crystal looks like it's contacted, but it's damage free and micro crystallized, as you can see under high magnification. Great quality all the way around, and well worth picking up if you're a Garnet collector, or if you like hard to find Mexican minerals.
