Item Description
I cannot say for certain if there will be more of these pieces, but this is a great opportunity for Garnet collectors to purchase a fine quality display specimen of this highly sought after variety of Andradite. Please note that under halogen lights, the crystals appear a bit ligher in color, but under mercury bulbs, the color is very intense! Without question, this is one of the most sculputural and dramatic specimens I have seen from Antetezambato which features a wealth of amazingly rich green color, modified dodecahedral crystals on a matrix of micro crystallized pale yellow Andradite. The largest crystal on the specimen (8 mm) has beautiful form, and is VERY gemmy, which we have tried to illustrate in the photos. The piece displays very well vertically, and the crystals actually have a slight blue overtone, reminiscent of those I have seen from Namibia or Canada. An elegant and inimitable display specimen. Priced at $1850.
