Mineral specimens of any species are very uncommon from this obscure California locality, the Lakeview Mountains in Riverside County. A large, pristine, sharp, lustrous, 3.1 cm, reddish-brown, andradite garnet trapezohedron is dramatically set in sculptural massive feldspar matrix. A RARE accessory is the large, 6.5 x 5.5 cm, fibrous section of black columbite crystal hidden on the bottom of the piece! The andradite is mostly opaque with only a few areas of orange-red translucence. RARE and desirable combination material from Riverside County.
