Melanite is the black titanoan variety of andradite garnet. Splendent, jet-black, dodecahedrons are richly clustered on the sculptural serpentine matrix on this fine old-timer from San Benito County and the Mullane Collection. Comes with a faded The Bradleys label dated March, 1952.
