Item Description
An elegant stacked cluster of highly lustrous, super sharp, black melanite garnets from the mid-1990s finds in Mali. The crowning, superb crystal is 1.8 cm and is pristine, complete all-around, though it has some attached feldspar. The small, tan feldspar crystals are a nice, contrasting accent. Melanite is the black, titanium-rich variety of andradite garnet. This is a real, cutie keeper from this find and the Bill Larson Collection.
