Andradite Garnet (var: Demantoid) (fine quality)

This piece comes to us from a discovery in 2021 in Afghanistan. You don't see a lot of Garnets from Afghanistan on the market, but these Andradites (Demantoids) are some of the most exciting Garnet crystals to come from any locality in the entire country. This miniature specimen hosts a very sharp, rather lustrous, dodecahedral crystal of rich green colored Demantoid measuring 1.0 cm sitting on matrix. A small nick can be seen on the side of the main Garnet crystal, but it's still fine quality. The crystal is very gemmy when backlit, and the larger crystal faces reflect like mirrors, which combined with the impressive size, make it one of the better Garnets we've had to offer from the locality.
