Item Description

An impressive large 5.5 cm andradite crystal dominates this sculptural mounded small cabinet of solid andradite. The crystals have wonderful reddish-brown color, complex crystallization and excellent lustre. Garnet Hill is aptly named for producing fine andradite garnet specimens. However, pieces from the Miracle Mountain Mine are rare compared to other nearby localities. Ex Pappy Yeats Collection, formerly in the Texas Tech Geology Department (A well known collection of a prominent geologist, sold off in the 1980s). Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1997. This is wonderful old-time andradite from the locale and very seldom on the market.
